What is it? 

The Personal Best Program is an online course with workbooks, live coaching calls and a community of successful runners. The course shows you how to reach your Personal Best using systems. Take the course on your own pace.  

Who is it for?

For runners of all levels, beginner, intermediate and advanced, with a goal to improve their running and overall health with predictable systems and clear strategies. 

Where does it happen?

The Personal Best Program is online and consists of training videos, flexible schedules, tools, live Q&A calls and a Facebook and Strava community. You complete it online, on your own time.

How does it work? 

You watch the videos, complete the action items, use the provided tools and templates. Ask questions in the Fb group, Strava group or on the live Q&A calls, follow the process, get results.

When does it start? 

Because the PB Program is an online course, it starts the moment you enroll. You can complete it in your own time and work through it as fast or slow as you wish. You get lifetime access.

"Do I really need this to be a successful runner?"

"How long are the training schedules? Which schedules are included?"

Our training schedules are very flexible and editable. You can easily adjust your training schedule based on your specific race date. 

This program comes with 5 base building schedules and 18 race specific schedules. Specific breakdown below. 

The 5 base building schedules are: 

  • 1.5 to 3 hours per week
  • 2 to 4 hours per week
  • 3 to 6 hours per week
  • 4 to 8 hours per week
  • 5 to 10 hours per week

This program starts with 12 weeks of base building, with most or all workouts at low intensity. This can be adjusted shorter or longer depending on when your race(s) are. The race specific schedules should be followed AFTER a base building phase has been completed. 

The race specific schedules: 

  • 5k schedule = 8 weeksbeginner intermediate advanced 
  • 10k schedule = 8 weeksbeginnerintermediate advanced 
  • half marathon schedules = 12 weeksbeginner intermediate advanced

For all running goals in this program, we will be providing workout details for the different stages of training, your current fitness level and race goals.

"How long is the course?"

The Personal Best Program is broken into 10 modules with 14 hours of core content and 10 hours of additional content and bonuses. 

You also get a 19 page companion workbook full of content and exercises to complete as you progress through the course.

“This sounds cool! But I don’t have time to commit to a course right now.”

No worries! We understand life can get pretty chaotic, which is why we created this to be a go-at-your-own pace course.

You can binge watch all the lessons on the first day, do 1 module a month, or take 3 months if you need! You’ll also have lifetime access to this course, so you can revisit it when you are ready to tackle the course in your own time.

“What other training programs do you have?”

The Personal Best Program is the only training program that I offer. 

This program has my best video content and training schedules that are not available anywhere else. 

This is also the only way to have live coaching calls with me inside the PB community, as well as ask questions in our PB Facebook and Strava community. 

"Does this program come with lifetime coaching?"

The Personal Best Program comes with lifetime access to all course materials (course videos, transcripts, workbook and training schedules). You also get lifetime access to the Personal Best private community on Facebook and Strava. The cost for the Personal Best Program is a one time payment of $397 USD (or $39 USD per month for 12 payments). 

Each new member of the PB Program also receives at least 12 months free access to our weekly PB Coaching calls. These are live group Q&A calls on Zoom, twice a week for 1 hour. Here coach Floris and others answer any questions you may have and you meet other members in our program. There will also be occasional guest speakers and Extramilest podcast guests to share their experiences. 

We guarantee that we will keep doing Zoom coaching calls for at least 12 months after your purchase. There is no additional fee after 12 months to keep attending our Zoom calls. For example our earliest program members have been able to attend all Zoom coaching calls over 3+ years and they can keep attending these calls as long as we keep doing them. So we guarantee at least 100 hours of Zoom coaching calls with Floris Gierman, however this will probably be (many) more hours than that. 

"How can a course with videos offer me a training plan that is really customized and individualized?"

The program will include a flexible base building period of 3 months, depending on progress can be longer. After the aerobic base building period has been completed, there are race specific schedules based on your fitness level, experience and race goals.

These are editable worksheets, so I’ll provide the template, then athletes can move the workouts around and adjust frequency and duration based on available time to train, stress levels, fitness levels and fatigue levels. Workouts are mostly in time (minutes), not distance (miles / km).

"Every athlete is unique. How can you offer a training schedule that is right for me?"

I fully agree that each athlete should learn to listen to their body and adjust training plans accordingly to stress levels and life circumstances. I do however see that many athletes can experience from specific training plan templates that can be modified to fit in their specific situation, based on available time, stress levels, race goals, fitness levels, etc. Combining this with the right mindset and clear race strategies based on HR and pace, and you have a strong formula for success.

"What measuring system is used, metric or imperial?"

I’ve tried my best to include both imperial and metric measuring systems for measurements, so paces and distances are described most of the time in miles and kilometers.

"Will every athlete succeed and reach their race goals?"

To be honest, no. Running a Personal Best in a race requires some luck with things lining up for you and race day weather conditions. But I believe we all play with the cards we’re dealt, and with the right training framework and racing strategies, we can give ourselves every advantage to increase chances to reach our goals.

Every training cycle and race teaches us something new. Even if we don’t reach our race goal first try, it will help us grow as a stronger, healthier, happier athlete. When you have an open mind, train consistent and patiently, this course can absolutely help improve your chances to reach your goals.

“What gear & tools do I need to make use of this course?”

You don’t need to blow money on fancy gadgets and gear to make the most out of this course. All you need is a GPS running watch, a heart rate monitor chest strap for the most accurate heart rate reading, and the courage to try new things.

“What time are your Zoom coaching calls?”

Our PB members are located around the world in different time zones. Our Zoom calls are typically 9:30am Los Angeles Time and the other day is noon or 4pm Los Angeles Time.

We rotate days and times to facilitate as many time zones as possible. Replays are always available within 24-72 hours with the topics discussed. We have an archive of hundreds of calls and topics you get access to.

The Zoom coaching calls are an opportunity to ask Floris Gierman live questions. Occasionally other PB program coaches and Extramilest podcast guests join to help answer questions. The amount of people per Zoom is different each time, but everyone gets an opportunity to ask their questions ahead of time and during the call.
